The Muse

My journey into the world of photography began in the mid-1970’s. In those early years, I explored and experimented with a range of untutored techniques that would enable and hopefully perfect my skilled ability to express fashion modeling and portraiture in a unique way. Fortunately, I was acquainted with friends (mostly female) who were more than willing to serve as muses towards that end.

This Gallery provides a few early examples of those efforts. “The Muse” highlights two personal friends, AOH and MS (names omitted to protect their identities). Paramount in my approach was the need to express an abstract view of their personas. AOH was an inspiring runway model who possessed all the classic attributes that the title would suggest. Tall, slender, poised and elegantly beautiful, AOH was the perfect fashion muse. MS is an established jazz/pop vocalist who presents a beautifully unique portrait style persona.

The images presented here are a mere fraction of the number of mages that were produced. Again, the point of this exercise was to hone my approach with respect to capturing the ‘Muse” in a variety of abstract forms and contexts.
